THIS IS A PORTRAIT STUDY OF MY BROTHER THAT I DID IN 2009.

THE PHOTO WAS TAKEN BY ME, WHEN WE TRAVELED TOGETHER IN HAVANA,CUBA A YEAR BEFORE THE COMPLETION OF THE PAINTING.

MY BROTHER IS REALLY FOND OF THIS COUNTRY AND I THOUGHT I WILL MAKE A PORTRAIT OF HIM SMOKING HIS CIGAR, DRINKING HIS MOJITO AT "BARAQUITO DEL MEDIO", A FAMOUS BAR IN THE HEART OF HAVANA CITY.

I ADMIRE MY BROTHER A LOT. HE IS FIVE YEARS YOUNGER THAN ME,  BUT SOMEHOW I FEEL HE IS MY OLDER PROTECTIVE BROTHER.

HE IS A SUPPORTIVE, CARING LEADER IN MY EYES THAT IS WHAT I WANTED TO ENCAPTURE IN THE PAINTING.

I USED WHITE AS A SKIN TONE  TO MAKE HIM LOOK LIKE A MARBLE STATUE. HIS HAND IS LIKE A SUPPORTING ANCIENT GREEK COLUMN, HIS GAZE IS STRONG LIKE A GENERAL BUT ALSO GENTLE LIKE A FATHER FIGURE.

MATERIALS: ARTIST QUALITY ACRYLIC PAINT ON COTTON CANVAS.

DIMENSION: 50 x 70 x 2 CM
